Tall Barney and His People
The Beals Historical Society has combined the two books, "Tall Barney
Genealogy" and "Tall Barney" (the legend), originally published
by Velton Peabody, into one book entitled, "Tall Barney and His
People".
Tall Barney's forefather Authur Beal Jr originally came from Plympton, Devonshire, England
c1655 and settled in York Maine. Barney's Great Grandfather, Manwarren Beal Jr, moved to
Beals Island Maine mid-1700's. The "Beal" name can also be spelled
as "Beale". If you or any of your forefather's or mother's,
were "Beal" or "Beale", Tall Barney or Barnabas Coffin
Beal, III, could be your relative.
